Always check the “from” address on an email if you’re the least little bit suspicious. If you hover your cursor over the name, you can see the actual electronic email address. Some phishing attempts use a sender email address that looks legitimate but isn’t – one red flag is when email domain doesn’t match the organization that the sender says they are from.

Installing software updates as soon as they’re available for all of your connected devices ensures you have important security patches and fixes that will protect against known vulnerabilities.

We’re all in this together. Try to assist older adult relatives or those who aren’t so cyber savvy to ensure that good cyber security protocols are in place. Be generous with your time, if possible, to help set up strong unique passwords, secure their home Wi-Fi network, and educate them about the perils of accidentally downloading malware by clicking on a suspicious link.
